Good morning, Southern Families! Students and staff are settling in well to the 2026-27 school year, and we are so grateful to all of you for entrusting their education to us. Last week Academy Principals and Counselors met with all students in their academies to review expectations and share exciting opportunities that will be available this year. We know this year is going to be GREAT!

This week, I'd like to recognize Ms. Katherine Clay, an Instructor III who supports teaching and learning in all Academies. Ms. Clay just joined our Southern Staff this year, and has jumped right in to be a team player and help in many different capacities, including lunch supervision. She is already building great relationships with students and staff, and is an important part of our Southern Team! Thanks, Ms. Clay, for LEADing Like a Trojan every day! 

There will be a school-wide lesson on mental health and suicide awareness on August 26th at 10:30am.  Reach out to your child's counselor if you have any questions or concerns.  The letters below have additional info on mental health for parents.
