A Note from the Principal

picture of Mrs. Sampson, the principal

Good morning, Trojan Families! I hope everyone had a fun and safe Derby weekend! This week, 10th and 11th graders will be engaging in state testing (KSA) on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. While students don't get a school-based grade for these assessments, I cannot express enough how critically important these tests are for them and for our school. The data from these assessments is the primary indicator the state uses to rank schools. We know how smart and capable our Trojans are, and we need them to demonstrate that with good faith effort on the assessments so that everyone else knows, too! Please encourage your student to DO THEIR ABSOLUTE BEST! Thank you for helping to encourage them!

His commitment to Southern High School spans 3 decades, making him a true staple of the Southern students' experience. We are grateful for his service, friendship, and dedication to both our students and staff. Thank you, Mr. Laha, for Leading Like a Trojan every day!
