DURING SCHOOL TOMORROW | We are excited to kick off our Cultural Festival tomorrow with a special Parade of Nations! If you signed up to participate, come to school parade ready. Students are encouraged to wear traditional cultural attire (if they would like) and/or carry a flag representing their country.
Parade of Nations will take place during school hours and is a student-only event, families are warmly invited to attend our Cultural Night from 5:00–6:30 PM.

TRANSPORTATION VERIFICATION |
|
|
|
ALL FAMILIES MUST VERIFY TRANSPORTATION | As we continue planning for the new school year, we need to know how your child will get to and from school for the 2026-27 school year. The JCPS Transportation Verification (TV) form is now open. Every JCPS family must complete this form letting us know how your child will get to and from school - JCPS bus rider, car rider, walker, or YMCA Childcare Enrichment Program (CEP) student. Note: YMCA CEP registration will open in mid-May.
The final day to request bus transportation for the first day of school is June 8, 2026. Eligible bus riders who fill out the Transportation Verification form by June 8, 2026, will be notified of their bus stop location in July via the JCPS Bus Teller. More information on Bus Teller will be provided to families this summer. The first day of school for 2026-27 is August 6, 2026.

• Log in to the JCPS Transportation Portal
• Enter the information requested
• Select how your child will get to and from school:
bus rider (if eligible), car rider, walker, or YMCA CEP student
• Submit the form

NOMINATIONS BEING ACCEPTED | Be a part of Norton Elementary School-Based Decision Making (SBDM) Council - complete the Nomination Form by April 22nd.
Members of SBDM includes parents, teachers, and an administrator of the school who participate in shared leadership. The council is responsible for setting school policy and making decisions as outlined in statute, which should provide an environment to enhance student achievement and assist in meeting the goals established by law.

SHORTS & TANK TOP WEATHER IS HERE - REMEMBER THE DRESS CODE | Students should come to school dressed in a manner conducive to learning. Please Remember: 👕 Appropriate Coverage
Clothing should fully cover the midriff. Halter tops and similar styles are not permitted. 🚫 Respectful Messaging Attire must be free of inappropriate language, graphics, or symbols. 👗 Length Requirements Shorts, skirts, and dresses should extend at least to fingertip length when arms are relaxed at the sides. 👟 Footwear
Tennis shoes are required for Physical Education classes and are strongly recommended for everyday wear to ensure safety and mobility. Shoes that restrict physical activity—such as platform shoes, high heels, or footwear that does not securely fasten around the ankle—are not permitted. 📱⌚️Electronic Devices Students may not use, activate, or display cell phones or other telecommunication devices, including smartwatches, during school hours. |
