PAW (PROVIDE A WISH) | 'Tis the season to spread JOY! We have children attending Norton whose families could use assistance this time of year to brighten the holiday season. These individuals are being asked to provide a wish list, including both clothing items and a toy suggestion. We are looking to YOU, the Norton community, to serve as volunteer PAW (Provide A Wish) shoppers. If you are interested, please complete this FORM by Friday, November 3rd. Thank you!

MISSING THE START OF THE DAY MAKES IT HARD TO CATCH UP!
The first full 30 minutes of a student’s day at school is important because:
ROUTINE SETS THE PACE
It allows students to settle into the same routine as their peers, not leaving them feeling lost or left out when they arrive late. Have you ever gone to a movie 10 minutes after it started? How did you feel? Being tardy to school is the same as being tardy to a movie.
IT IS HARD TO CATCH UP!
LEARNING IS TAKING PLACE
Students engage in key learning such as shared reading, reading aloud, vocabulary building and writing. Have you ever been on a sports team, arrived after the coach has scheduled the lineup, assigned practice drills, set expectations, shared the game plan, and the game had started? How did you feel? Being tardy to school is the same as being tardy to a sports event.
IT IS HARD TO CATCH UP!
HEALTHY START
Students receive a free nutritious breakfast that feeds the brain and also creates opportunities for them to build social skills such as one-on-one interaction with their peers, engaging in decision-making, problem-solving and more. A nourished brain is open for learning. A nutritious meal does wonders for the start of the day.

LAST CALL FOR LOST AND FOUND |
IT'S COLD OUTSIDE - MISSING ANYTHING? | Attention all Norton Elementary School students and parents! The lost and found at school is overflowing with items that need to find their way back home. If your child has misplaced any belongings, be sure to check the lost and found in the school lobby as soon as possible. All unclaimed items will be donated THIS Friday, 10/31! |
LOADS OF LEFTOVER CANDY? | Send it to school! We reward over 50 students with treats each week as part of a school-wide behavior incentive and also include sweets on our Teacher Treat Trolley! We'll have a box in the lobby next week and would LOVE your leftovers! |
