Message from Principal Smith

Dear Families,

I am excited to share some wonderful news about our students’ academic growth. Our most recent KSA results show strong progress across multiple areas. We saw an overall proficiency increase of +4.2, with notable growth in several subject areas: +6% in reading, +5% in math, +8% in science, and +5% in social studies. We are especially proud of our English Learners, who demonstrated a +13-point gain in the EL Progress Index. These results reflect the hard work and dedication of our students, staff, and families—thank you for your continued partnership.

I also want to celebrate the success of our recent schoolwide food drive, where our students collected over 500 canned goods to support the Dare-To-Care Food Bank. Congratulations to our grade-level winners for their outstanding contributions:

6th Grade: Ms. Johnson’s class

7th Grade: Ms. Holliman’s class

8th Grade: Mr. Leonard’s class

Thank you to all who donated and helped make a meaningful impact in our community!

As a reminder, Thanksgiving Break will take place from November 26–28. We hope all of our families enjoy a safe and restful holiday.

We are also looking forward to our Winter Dance on December 10. To attend, students must meet the following expectations between November 24 and December 10:

-No behavior referrals that result in ISAP or Suspension

-No more than 2 unexcused tardies or absences

-Passing all classes for the two weeks leading up to the event

-Completion of Winter MAP Assessment and Individual Learning Plan (ILP)

These guidelines help ensure that the dance is a positive and rewarding celebration for our students.

Thank you for your continued support of our school community. Please reach out if you have any questions. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with you each day.

Warm regards,
Carolyn B Smith
Principal

Farnsley Short Term NTI Plan

Students were given hard copies of NTI work today (November 24, 2025) to bring home. These should be kept in a safe place at home, in case the district designates an NTI day.  Notice of the district using an NTI day will be communicated via the local news, Thrillshare, school email communication.  More often, advanced notices are based on the current conditions of our weather or community.  Please be mindful of that and follow accordingly.  Digital copies of the work received will also be posted on teacher's Google Classrooms the day of NTI, and will also be accessible through the button on the Farnsley.us homepage. More information can be found using the link below.  Teachers will be accessible via email during the school day based on the schedule outlined.
