Dear Farnsley Families,
As winter weather season continues, we want to take a moment to spotlight our NTI (Non-Traditional Instruction) procedures and ensure families feel prepared should additional NTI days be needed.
With the potential for upcoming weather events, we encourage families to closely monitor communication from JCPS, local news outlets, and Farnsley communications for any announcements regarding school closures or NTI days. These sources will always provide the most accurate and timely information.
At this point, we have utilized three (3) NTI days. Students should already have NTI work at home prepared for Days 4–6 (handed out December 16, 2025). Additionally, NTI Day 7–8 materials were sent home with students today, including work for their new Related Arts and/or Pathway classes. Having these materials at home ensures continuity of learning and helps students stay on track, even during inclement weather. As a reminder, all NTI assignments are due within 24 hours of returning to the building.
We also want to take a moment to celebrate an incredible accomplishment by our Farnsley Academic Team, who competed in the KAAC District 25 Governor’s Cup. We are so proud to share their outstanding results:

Finally, we ask for your help with our Comprehensive School Survey, which is linked below in the newsletter. Our goal is 80% family participation, and we are currently at 22%. Your feedback is essential in helping us reflect, improve, and plan for the future of Farnsley. We truly value your voice.
Thank you for your continued partnership, flexibility, and support—especially as we navigate winter weather together. We are grateful to be part of such a strong and engaged school community.
Warm regards,
Carolyn B. Smith
