Dear Farnsley Families,
I hope you are having a great week and staying warm as we move further into the winter season. We have several important updates to share as we head into a busy and exciting month at Farnsley.
First, thank you to everyone for your support during our first NTI day on December 2. As a reminder, any NTI student work must be turned in within 24 hours of students returning to the building. For example, if students return on a Wednesday, all NTI assignments should be submitted by Thursday morning during Genius Hour. This helps ensure students stay on track and receive timely feedback from teachers.
We are also looking forward to our Winter Dance on December 10! To attend, students must meet the following expectations between November 24 and December 10:
-No behavior referrals that result in ISAP or suspension
-No unfulfilled discipline matters
-No more than two unexcused tardies or absences
-Passing all classes for the two weeks leading up to the event
-Completion of Winter MAP Assessment and Individual Learning Plan (ILP)
These guidelines help ensure that the dance is a positive and rewarding celebration for students who are meeting expectations both academically and behaviorally.
In addition, our Winter Book Fair will run from December 8–12. Every student will attend the book fair with their ELA class. This event not only helps students discover new books they’re excited to read, but it is also a major fundraiser for our school library. We appreciate your support in helping us continue to grow and update our collection for all students.
Finally, we are excited to share that our annual Staff vs. Students Dodgeball Game will take place on December 18! This is always a fun and spirited event. We will be sharing more details with families next week.
Thank you for your continued partnership and support. We have a lot to look forward to this month, and we appreciate everything you do to help make Farnsley a great place for our students to learn and grow.
Warm regards,
Carolyn B Smith
