Message from Principal Smith

Dear Farnsley Families,

I hope you are having a wonderful week. We are excited to share how proud we are of our 6th grade students, who did an outstanding job during their Exhibition of Learning today. Our students confidently shared their work, explained their thinking, and demonstrated the growth they have made this semester. Thank you to the families who attended and supported our students—your presence truly makes these moments meaningful.

As we continue through the winter season, we want to thank families for your flexibility and support during NTI Days 2 and 3. This is a reminder that all NTI assignments must be completed and submitted within 24 hours of students returning to the building. Timely completion helps students stay on track and allows teachers to provide meaningful feedback. We appreciate your partnership in reinforcing these expectations.

As we approach the end of the semester, please note that Winter Break begins on December 20, and students will return to school on January 5. We encourage families to use this time to rest, recharge, and celebrate together.

Thank you for your continued support of our students and school community. On behalf of the entire Farnsley staff, we wish you a happy, safe, and restful holiday season. We look forward to welcoming students back in the new year.

Warm regards,
Carolyn B. Smith
Principal

Farnsley Short Term NTI Plan

Students were given hard copies of NTI work packet 2 (Day 4-6) yesterday (December 16, 2025) to bring home. These should be kept in a safe place at home, in case the district designates an NTI day.  Notice of the district using an NTI day will be communicated via the local news, Thrillshare, and school email communication.  More often, advanced notices are based on the current conditions of our weather or community.  Please be mindful of that and follow accordingly.  Digital copies of the work received will also be posted on teacher's Google Classrooms the day of NTI, and will also be accessible through the button on the Farnsley.us homepage. More information can be found using the link below.  Teachers will be accessible via email during the school day based on the schedule outlined.

Explore Highlights: VILS Lab (Verizon Innovative Learning Lab)

Farnsley students are making big moves in our Verizon Innovative Learning Lab (VILS)! Through hands-on experiences with the Glowforge, 3D printers, and robotics, students are designing, creating, and problem-solving in exciting and meaningful ways. The VILS Lab has been a hub of student engagement, where creativity meets technology and learning comes to life.

In the lab, students are building coding knowledge, exploring careers in STEM, engineering, and technology, and developing critical skills such as collaboration, perseverance, and innovation. These real-world learning opportunities help students see how technology can turn ideas into reality and open doors to future career pathways. We are proud of the curiosity and enthusiasm our students bring to the VILS Lab each day!
