A Welcome Message

Hello Bates Families!

We’ve had an incredible first half of the school year! Our students are learning and producing high-quality work that makes us all proud.

At Bates, our staff is dedicated to helping every student succeed. Learning is Our Adventure this year and we are focused on our Journey to Success! Students are creating artifacts that demonstrate their high levels of learning within their classrooms. Teachers have been participating in professional learning throughout the year to support these important goals.

Along with our Journey to Success, students are working hard to prepare for their Student-Led Conference here at Bates. Those take place on Monday, February 17, 2026. Last semester we had nearly 80% of our families participate in conference day. I invite everyone to schedule a time with your student’s teacher and check out how your child is learning and growing!

Parent engagement—specifically Family Leadership—is one of our top goals this year. We’re striving for 80% of all Bates families to participate in at least one school activity. So far, 21 out of 23 classes have met this goal—thank you! Let’s keep it going!

If you have an idea for a family engagement event, we’d love to hear from you!

As always, please feel free to reach out if I can support you in any way.

“It’s a great day to be a Bear!”
