We are so excited to have everyone here for the 2025-2026 school year! Here at Auburndale Elementary, we hope to be an inclusive community, united by the joy of learning, where individuality is accepted, valued, and celebrated. At Auburndale we teach students how to be safe, respectful and responsible.

Dismissal Information!🚌🚗

Our first day back for students was Thursday, August 7th. We've already had a super successful first month! To continue with this success, we wanted to be sure to remind parents/guardians of our arrival and dismissal procedures:

All Kindergarten through 5th grade car riders will enter off Mary Ellen Dr from Scottsdale Blvd in the morning. Doors open at 7am. School begins at 7:30am. If you are late to drop off your student, you still must enter school grounds from the Mary Ellen Dr side parking lot, park in a visitor spot, and walk to the front to sign your student in. Students must have a parent/guardian present to sign them in and cannot walk to the front after being late alone.

Dismissal for car riders in the afternoon has a different entrance. Cars enter through the main entrance from New Cut Road with their car rider tags and proceed to the rear door near the school playground. In order to promote the safety of everyone, please do not arrive prior to 1:40 PM to be in the car rider line. 1 PM is the cut off time for any transportation changes and they must be in writing. You can email jcps.auburndale-transportation@jefferson.kyschools.us.

Attendance

Our school day at Auburndale Elementary begins at 7:30 a.m. and ends at 2:10 p.m. It is very important that students are on time and present for the entire school day in order to ensure student success. If your student is absent, please send all attendance excuse notes to our jcps.auburndale-attendance@jefferson.kyschools.us email. Let's work together to make this school year a great one! 😄

Lunch Information

Auburndale Elementary students are eligible to receive a healthy breakfast and lunch each day at NO CHARGE to your household.

Your student will receive a lunch number that they will use every day they go through the cafeteria line to get a lunch.

Family/Teacher Coffee & Chat Sessions

Look forward to receiving more information about our first "Coffee and Chat" session on family/teacher conference day! Mark your calendars for this event that we hope to see lots of families at!

PTA

You can also join our school PTA! PTA stands for Parent Teacher Association. We would love to have you join the team! This is a great and easy way to get more involved and have a direct, positive impact on your student and you school community!

High Attendance Day!🎉

We are so excited for our High Attendance Day and hope to see all of our wonderful wildcats on this day! We will be celebrating on Tuesday the 9th how "sweet" it is to be an Auburndale student with popsicles!

Family Literacy Night!📖

Save the date!! Family Literacy Night is back!
This year we are rolling out the red carpet for our literacy super stars!

When: Thursday, September 18th from 4:30-6:30pm

There will be learning stations, book fair, food truck, Kona Ice, and popcorn!

This event is free to attend, but there are options to purchase items (book fair, food truck, kona ice).

School Smiles Dentist🪥

The dentist is here! School Smiles dentists will be visiting our school on September 8th and 9th. They will set up in the FRC. If you would like for your student to see the dentist at school, please fill out a form online at https://schoolsmiles.com/student-signup/ or request a paper copy to fill out in the front office. You can call School Smiles with any questions at 855-497-6453.

New JCPS Parent App📲

JCPS has created a new app for families/guardians to use. With this app you can communicate directly with your child's teacher. Having this app is vital in order to receive communication from the school.
